Dear DSU Faculty and Staff,
We’re pleased to announce that Windows 11 is now available for upgrade across campus. After thorough testing, our IT team has confirmed compatibility for most applications and university-issued devices.
You may upgrade your device to Windows 11 at your convenience. This upgrade is optional, and you may continue using Windows 10 for the time being. If you choose to upgrade, we recommend doing so during a period when you can afford a brief interruption. One strategy is to start the download in the afternoon and then run or schedule the upgrade when you leave for the day or after hours.
To locate and begin the upgrade, simply type Check for Updates in the Windows Search Bar, press Enter, and Click the link to Download and Install Windows 11.
Recommendations
- Backup any critical files before initiating the upgrade.
- Use wired internet if possible for a faster and more stable upgrade experience.
- Schedule your upgrade during non-critical work hours.
- Contact IT if you encounter any issues or need assistance.
