FIDO 2 and WebAdvisor Self-Service log in issues

Passkey Authentication for WebAdvisor Self-Service

At this time, the use of FIDO passkeys for authentication is not supported when signing in to Ellucian WebAdvisor Self-Service.

DeSales University has confirmed with Ellucian that WebAdvisor Self-Service does not currently provide a supported method to accommodate passkey (FIDO/WebAuthn) authentication within its sign-in process. As a result, users who have registered a passkey as a sign-in method for their Microsoft account will need to use an alternate authentication method when accessing WebAdvisor Self-Service.

Until Ellucian adds support for passkey authentication, users should authenticate using one of the following supported multi-factor authentication (MFA) methods:

  • Microsoft Authenticator app
  • Phone (call or text message, if registered)

This article will be updated if Ellucian introduces support for passkey authentication in a future release.
