INSTALLING & CONNECTING TO DESALES VPN

OVERVIEW
This guide explains how to install and connect to the DeSales VPN using GlobalProtect.
ACCESS REQUIREMENT
VPN access is available to staff and faculty only.
DOWNLOAD & INSTALLATION
1. Access the VPN Portal
- Open a web browser
- Go to: https://tunnel.desales.edu
- Log in using your MyDSU credentials
- Username: last name + first initial
- Password: MyDSU password
2. Download the VPN Client
- Select the version compatible with your computer
- Download the GlobalProtect installer
Windows Users (32-bit vs 64-bit):
- Click the Start Menu
- Type System and open System Information
- Look for System Type (x32 or x64)
3. Install GlobalProtect
- Open the downloaded file
- Click Next to begin installation
- Continue clicking Next through each step:
- Select Installation Folder → Next
- Confirm Installation → Next
- Wait for installation to complete
- Click Close
CONNECTING TO THE VPN
1. Open GlobalProtect
- Locate it in the system tray (bottom-right corner of your screen)
2. Enter Portal Address
- When prompted, enter:
tunnel.desales.edu
- Click Connect
3. Log In
- Enter your DeSales credentials:
- Username: last name + first initial
- Password: MyDSU password
- Click Sign In
4. Confirm Connection
- You should see a Connected message
TROUBLESHOOTING NOTES
- Ensure you are using the correct username format
- Reinstall the client if installation fails
- Contact Helpdesk if you cannot connect
