Brightspace: Uploading OneDrive Files to Assignments

Instructions for faculty to change Brightspace setting to allow students to upload OneDrive files to Brightspace

Assignment Setup: Submission Settings

To properly configure assignments, instructors need to update one setting:

Steps:

1. Go to the “Submission & Completion” section
2. Locate Submission Type
3. Change the setting:
   • Default: File Submission
   • Update to: File or Text Submission

Tip: This allows students to either upload a file directly, upload from their OneDrive or type directly into the submission box 

 

NOTE: A recent update to Brightspace may not allow the above directions to work.  In that case, please save the OneDrive file to the users computer and upload the file to Brightspace from there.
