Lockdown Browser: Enabling Lockdown Browser

Instructions for faculty on how to enable lockdown browser when creating a quiz.

Lockdown browser is an application that aids to ensure academic honesty. Various features of lockdown browser includes: restriction of additional tabs or applications on the user's device, camera requirement and recording, and possibly proctor's during online testing.  

 

To enable Lockdown Browser: 

  1. Create your quiz with desired questions.  

  2. In your quizzes tab there will be a navigation bar with the words “LockDown Browser.” Select that option. If prompted with the message “Application Respondus v4.0 by Respondus Inc is trying to access your information. Would you like to proceed?,” click continue. 

  3. Under your dashboard you should see the quiz(zes) you have created. Next to the quiz you want to require a lockdown browser, select the down arrow to the left of the quiz title. Then select “Settings.”  

  4. Select “Require Respondus LockDown Browser for this exam.” 

  5. Include a lockdown browser password and/or proctor requirement if desired.
