Brightspace: Managing Accommodations

Summary

Instructions for faculty to set student accommodations within Brightspace

Body

In Brightspace, accommodations can be set either on a quiz-by-quiz basis, or the class level.

If a student in the course will have an accommodation for every quiz in the course, it is recommended to set the accommodations on the class level.

To set an accommodation on the class level, please follow these steps;

1. Click on "Course Tools" on your class navigation bar.

2. Select "Class list" from the dropdown menu.
3. Locate the student who requires accommodations from the list that appears.
4. Click on the downwards facing arrow to the right of the student's name.
5. Select "Manage Accommodations".
6. Input the appropriate modifiers. This information will typically be provided by the Academic Success Center.
7. Click "Save and Close".

Those settings will then apply for every quiz that the student takes in your course.
